Bubble curtains don’t work

As the slide above demonstrates, BOEM’s official report on bubble curtains as a mitigation strategy to protect whales admits they do not attenuate sounds below 200 Hz. Unfortunately the North Atlantic right whale normally hears in the range between 15-500 Hz. Thus, this mitigation will not protect this species, nor will it protect other baleen whales that are sensitive to sounds in similar ranges.
